The Story of Kevin Staut
Born on November 15, 1980, in Le Chesnay, France, Kevin Staut grew up surrounded by horses. From an early age, he developed a true passion for riding thanks to his family, who encouraged him to get in the saddle and discover the world of show jumping. Very quickly, he showed a natural talent and determination that set him apart.
His career began to take off in the early 2000s when he won the gold medal at the European Young Riders Championships — a first major title that confirmed his potential and marked his arrival on the international stage. These early successes laid the foundation for a career defined by consistency and excellence.
The decisive turning point came in 2009 when he became European Individual Champion in Windsor with the stallion Kraque Boom at the European Show Jumping Championships. This victory propelled him to the top of the sport and led him to become World No.1 the following year, a title that reflected his exceptional level and technical mastery.
A cornerstone of the French team for many years, Kevin Staut has delivered outstanding performances in the world’s biggest competitions. Among his greatest achievements are the team gold medal at the 2016 Olympic Games, along with numerous podium finishes at European and World Championships — a testament to his consistency and commitment at the highest level.
Renowned for his precision, feel for the horse and highly technical style, he perfectly combines performance and horsemanship. Today, Kevin Staut embodies consistency, high standards and excellence at the very top of international show jumping, continuing to inspire the next generation of riders in France and around the world.
Reflecting his journey, he created in 2018 with CWD the “The One – Le Style” bridle, a symbol of his elegance and highly technical riding style.
