The Story of Kent Farrington
Born in Chicago, Kent Farrington discovered horseback riding at just eight years old. His natural talent and determination quickly propelled him to the top of the junior ranks before he turned professional in 2000. From that point on, he became a cornerstone of the U.S. team on the international stage. Among his early major achievements are the team silver medal at the 2016 Summer Olympics and the bronze medal at the 2014 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games, both earned with the talented KWPN gelding Voyeur.
Over the years, Farrington has established himself as one of the most consistent and formidable riders on the global circuit. His 2022 and 2023 seasons were marked by an impressive string of victories in CSI5*, CSI4*, and CSI3* competition, notably with his horses Orafina, Landon, Toulayna, and Creedance. He also excelled in team events, winning Nations Cup gold in Mexico and claiming team gold along with individual silver at the 2023 Pan American Games in Santiago. That same year, he capped off his European season with a prestigious victory in the Geneva Trophy.
The 2024 season further confirmed his world-class status. He recorded several major wins and finished fourth at the 2024 FEI Jumping World Cup Final in Riyadh with Greya. Their outstanding season secured them a place on the U.S. Olympic team shortlist for the 2024 Summer Games following a decisive performance in the Rolex Grand Prix of La Baule-Escoublac. However, unforeseen circumstances ultimately prevented them from competing in Paris.
Farrington bounced back in spectacular fashion in 2025. Victories followed one after another in California, Florida, and Kentucky, notably with Greya and Toulayna. These major successes propelled him back to the top of the FEI world rankings, crowning a career built on consistency, precision, and a relentless pursuit of excellence. Today, Kent Farrington stands as one of the most dominant and respected figures in international show jumping.
